TRAINING FOR NDIS PARTICIPANTS

ONE TO ONE AND SMALL GROUP TRAINING

Inclusive, goal-focused Filipino martial arts training delivered at a safe pace and adapted to the participant's abilities, needs and preferred way of learning.

Balance, coordination, mobility, body awareness and physical confidence.

Focus, routine, emotional regulation and remaining calmer under pressure.

Communication, social connection, teamwork and participation in the community.

TRAINING OPTIONS

One-to-one sessions: personalised instruction, individual pacing and focused support towards the participant's goals.

Small group sessions: structured training with social interaction, cooperation, shared progress and a supportive sense of belonging.

HOW SESSIONS ARE DELIVERED

Clear, step-by-step instruction with repetition and time to process each skill.

Movements and activities adapted for different bodies, abilities, communication styles and learning needs where safe participation is possible.

Choice, consent, respectful boundaries and controlled practice remain central to every session.

Support workers, carers or family members may attend or assist where appropriate and agreed.

Progress is based on the participant's own development, not comparison with others.

WHAT SESSIONS MAY INCLUDE

Warm-up, balance, footwork, posture, body movement and coordination activities.

Empty-hand movement, defensive awareness and practical self-defence principles.

Age- and ability-appropriate Eskrima, Arnis and Kali skills using safe training equipment where suitable.

Breathing, grounding, focus drills and activities that build calm, control and confidence.

Partner or group exercises that encourage communication, turn-taking and cooperation.

A current Working With Children Check and experience teaching beginners of different ages and abilities.

NDIS FUNDING AND ENQUIRIES

Training must relate to the participant's disability-related needs, goals and available NDIS funding.

Please check with your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA before booking to confirm whether the sessions can be paid from your plan.

Funding arrangements accepted by Coastal Edge are Self-Managed and Plan Managed only.

Training is not clinical therapy and does not replace medical, psychological, allied health or behaviour support services.
