WOMEN’S SELF DEFENCE
Awareness. Boundaries. Practical Skills. Real Confidence.
SELF-DEFENCE BEGINS BEFORE CONTACT
• Notice surroundings, exits, distance, behaviour changes and early warning signs.
• Trust discomfort and give yourself permission to act before a situation becomes obvious or physical.
• Use clear verbal boundaries, confident body language and a strong voice.
• Create space, move towards safety, call for help and disengage when possible.
PRACTICAL SKILLS
• Stable stance, balance, footwork and protective movement.
• Using positioning, distance and barriers to reduce vulnerability.
• Simple physical responses designed to disrupt contact, create space and escape.
• Controlled practice for selected grabs, holds and close-range situations.
• General education about responsible self-defence and legal rights and responsibilities.
A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT
• Beginner-friendly training with clear explanations and progressive intensity.
• No surprise grabs, forced disclosure or pressure to push through distress.
• Choice, consent and personal boundaries remain central to partner work.
• Movements may be adapted for different ages, bodies, fitness levels, injuries and learning needs where safe.
• No blame-based teaching: responsibility for violence always belongs to the person choosing it.
PROGRAM OPTIONS
• Introductory workshop, four-week foundations, six- or eight-week program.
• Private or small-group training, workplace sessions and community programs.
• Suitable for women seeking awareness, confidence, practical skills or a return to physical activity.
• No self-defence program can guarantee safety; training builds options, judgement and familiarity.
Build skill without building fear.
